As the Saying-Hello subscriber you decide. Messages can be posted any and all the time, the newsletter is printed and mailed once a month, twice a month or weekly depending on which subscription you choose.
No we do not. We do not filter or modify any posts, comments or messages sent on Saying-Hello. The site members are responsible for their content, which is not filtered or reviewed by Saying-Hello.
Inmates cannot reply to posts on Saying-Hello directly unless they have internet access which is extremely rare. However after reading their newsletters Inmates can have their Saying-Hello subscribers post update messages or replies on their behalf in the 'message from inmate' feature.
Yes. You can attach pictures to your post, they will be printed out in color on regular paper not photo stock. Please be aware when adding photos that any images that violate prison guidelines will not be allowed in to the facility, and may block all photos being received by the inmate. The guidelines for photos are very strict, so please google the rules for the prison your inmate is in to ensure any pictures you add will not be blocked. Same as if regular mail is rejected, it simply doesn't get sent to the inmate, there is no return mail from prisons. Encourage people using your Saying-Hello to exercise good judgement so that the chances of newsletters getting blocked are avoided.
Yes. If you are the Saying-Hello subscriber you can delete any members from the sites you set up.
Yes, you can create multiple Saying-Hellos for the same, or different inmates.
Each state and correctional facility have their own rules and guidelines for inmates mail. We advise that our customers do a quick google search to review the rules of your inmate's facility and review our general guide (link here). Saying-Hello has no way of controlling if mail is blocked, if we receive return mail for an inmate we will email the subscriber immediately, then continue to send the next newsletter per the selected schedule.
Each prison system is different, but as a general rule prisons will block any communication that does any of the following:
Depicts or describes procedures for the construction of or use of weapons, ammunitions, bombs, chemical agents, or incendiary devices |
Depicts, encourages, or describes methods of escape from correctional facilities or contains blueprints, drawings or similar descriptions of department of corrections facilities or institutions, or includes road maps that can facilitate escape from correctional facilities |
Depicts or describes procedures for the brewing of alcoholic beverages, or the manufacture of drugs or other intoxicants |
Is written in code |
Depicts, describes or encourages activities which may lead to the use of physical violence or group disruption |
Encourages or instructs in the commission of criminal activity |
Is dangerously inflammatory in that it advocates or encourages riot, insurrection, disruption of the institution, violation of department or institution rules, the violation of which would present a serious threat to the security, order or rehabilitative objectives of the institution or the safety of any person |
Threatens physical harm, blackmail or extortion |
Pictorially depicts sexual conduct such as : (a) actual or simulated sexual intercourse; (b) sexual bestiality; (c) masturbation; (d) sadomasochistic abuse; (e) actual contact with a person's unclothed genitals, pubic area, buttocks, or, if such person is a female, breast; (f) any act or conduct which constitutes sexual battery or simulates that sexual battery is being or will be committed |

Saying-Hello will continue to mail newsletters to the address provided by the site administrator until the subscription is cancelled. If an inmate is moved and the facility doesn't forward the newsletter you can email us and we will resend newsletters to new facility addresses for no charge.
Yes. However only the subscriber (site admin) can delete any members they don't want to be on their site, members can send invites to other members, as many as they choose for no charge.
Prisons require a list of people corresponding with inmates, so members enter their first and last names just once and then we print out a list of all contributors names which is sent along with the newsletter.
